Join us on an unforgettable fishing journey along the Rio Vichada, one of Colombia’s hidden gems. This pristine river remains largely unexplored, offering an incredible opportunity to catch monstrous peacock bass weighing over 26 pounds.

At the Tucunaré Lodge, we have established a special agreement with the indigenous communities, granting us exclusive permission to operate on the Vichada River and its captivating lagoons. To preserve the area’s untouched beauty, we limit our group size to a maximum of 8-10 anglers per week.

Our lodge features six cozy cabins with double occupancy, each equipped with a private bathroom, fan, and electricity. Although the surrounding area stays pleasantly cool during the night, we ensure your comfort with fresh sheets provided daily and prompt laundry service.

Embark on a fishing expedition that spans 9 days, with 7 dedicated to thrilling fishing experiences. Delve into the depths of the Rio Vichada and its abundant lagoons, where giant peacock bass reign supreme. We also venture to the renowned Rio Orinoco, renowned for its big payara/vampire fish, golden sardinata, catfish, and various other species.

Distinguished from other operators in the area, our lodge’s proximity to the Rio Vichada’s lagoon system offers unparalleled convenience. You’ll have ample time to fish from dawn until 5 pm and even enjoy night fishing, all while avoiding crowded fishing spots and excessive pressure.

Prepare yourself for heart-pounding topwater action as you encounter magnificent Three-Barred, Royal, Popoca/Monoculus, and Butterfly Peacock Bass. Surface poppers prove irresistible to these predatory giants, both in the river and lagoons. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to battle a myriad of fierce catfish species, Payara, Bicuda, Matrinchá/Bocon, Sardinata, and Pirapitinga/Morocoto.

For fly fishing enthusiasts, the Orinoco River offers a captivating experience. Not only can you target Peacock Bass with exceptional results, but you can also discover a wealth of other species. Prepare for the exhilaration of reeling in lightning-fast fish like Bicuda, Pirapitinga/Morocoto, and Payara, commonly found near rapids and fast-moving waters. To ensure your safety, we recommend wearing stripping gloves to avoid cuts and burns during these intense battles.

While Pirapitinga/Morocoto predominantly feast on nuts and fruits, they eagerly strike jigs, spoons, lures, and flies when the river is low and their preferred food is scarce. Don’t be surprised if you encounter truly massive specimens during your adventure!

Join us on this remarkable 9-day fishing trip, with 7 full days dedicated to exploring the untamed waters of the Rio Vichada and Orinoco River. Prepare to be amazed by the diverse array of fish species and the thrill of reeling in trophy-sized catches.
